About Us
Setting the highest installation standards for retro-fit residential insulation
About the IIAA
The Insulation Installation Assurance Association Ltd (IIAA) has been established to set and implement the highest installation standards for retro-fit residential insulation.
The Australian retro-fit insulation industry is unregulated. Installers are not licensed, it does not come under the National Construction Code (NCC) and there is very little consumer protection should issues arise with workmanship and associated long-term defects.
The lack of clear national oversight exposes both consumers and workers to significant risks. While light-touch regulation can encourage innovation, investment and growth, it also leaves room for unchecked practices that may harm consumers, workers and the environment.
What we aim to do
Our aim is to de-risk insulation installation by implementing a comprehensive quality assurance framework which includes accreditation and surveillance of fit-for-purpose products, installers and installations.
It is our strong belief that insulation installed correctly can make a significant contribution to household energy savings and help Australia meet its 2050 net-zero emissions target.
When insulation is installed right, it will maintain a more stable and comfortable indoor temperature, reduce energy costs and provide a healthier indoor environment for many years to come.
Principles We Stand By
Commitment to Quality
Our comprehensive quality assurance program de-risks insulation installation, giving homeowners confidence their investment will stand the test of time.
Together we achieve
We work with installers, manufacturers and governments sharing expertise and providing assurance that home insulation is installed safely and meets all quality standards.
A greener tomorrow
